My first time eating Dragon's Beard!

In the spirit of the year of the dragon I headed to East Wind Snack Shop in Brooklyn
to learn more about Dragon's Beard candy.
Making Dragon's Beard requires a special technique.
The owner of East Wind, chef Chris Cheung,
was kind enough to personally make a batch for us to see how it's made!
I also got to taste Dragon's Beard for the first time! To try Dragon's Beard in New York, check out http://www.EastWindSnackShop.Com

Take Your Power Back

A short glimpse into my life as an independent artist and model in New York. I believe in the freedom of the individual; Hope this video can inspire you to not stunt your own growth and potential by giving the reins of your destiny over to someone else.
We can all be absent-minded and absent-hearted, but then it is up to us to course correct. Course correct our own behavior and course correct where we use our precious life force - let's not use it to support systems we don't believe in, and systems that aren't fair.
Course correct by taking your power back. 🕊️

Hiking Breakneck Ridge

Just came back from a very relaxing hike in upstate New York. I hiked the Breakneck Ridge trail for the first time with one of my best friends last year. Missed it so much I decided to do it again this week. My friend is abroad so I decided to hike solo, but it turns out there were so many other hikers out this weekend so I definitely wasn’t alone.

If you want to hike the longest trail loop, the one that goes all the way from Breakneck Ridge to Coldspring, I recommend taking an Amtrak train to Breakneck Station. If you do so, you can hike to Coldspring Village, have a meal, and then take the train back from Coldspring station without worries of having to go back and get your car. The Breakneck Ridge trail starts off extremely steep, pictured above.

I stopped at Hudson House River Inn (2 Main Street) in Coldspring for a delicious portobello-mushroom veggie burger before returning to the city.
Wishing you a wonderful fall-season,
Seena

Best Hot Chocolate in New York

It’s autumn in New York! One of my favorite things to do as soon as the temperature drops is to enjoy a delicious cup of hot chocolate from Saint Ambroeuse. It’s the best! Also recommend the hot chocolate from my other favorite, Angelina, which you can order in an iced version, as well.
Enjoy if you are lucky enough to be here,
or lucky enough to visit in the future!
Fall in New York really is magical.
Love,
Seena

A new plant-based favorite

LeBotanisteChili.JPG

Finally took the time to check out Le Botaniste and I’m so happy I did. Le Botaniste is a plant-based organic food & natural wine bar with three locations in Manhattan.
I tried their Chili Sin Carne which was delicious! The ingredients are: Brown rice, 3 beans, quinoa, chili sin carne, erzats sour cream, turmeric onion. textured soy protein, miso, onion, garlic, tomato, cilantro. Yum!

A glimpse into my favorite spa in New York

Here’s a short video with some shots I took at my favorite spa in New York; the spa at Mandarin Oriental.
If you’re looking for an oasis of zen in the middle of all the chaos Manhattan has to offer, this is definitely it!
The treatments are amazing and if you are lucky you get to have most of the facilities to yourself like I did this time around.
I recommend coming 45 minutes before your treatment is scheduled for,
so you can warm up your muscles in the Vitality Pool first!

My favorite NYC restaurant

IMG_8433-2.jpg

What restaurant in NYC is downtown-cosy, elegant, has consistently amazing food and excellent service? My favorite place L’Artusi of course :) Order anything off the menu and prepare to be wowed. I love the tagliatelle bolognese, the roasted mushrooms with egg, the brussel sprouts and last but not least the Crispy Potatoes with Salsa Bianco (definitely get this no matter what if you like sour cream and onion potato chips).

I love to sit at the chefs counter, but they also have beautiful tables. Reserve in advance as this place gets packed for the most popular dinner times 1-2 weeks in advance.
